Slow Day

Most of today's update will be random pieces of information:

  • My Kreole lesson went well.  I'm trying to figure out the verb "to be."  It'a pain in the butt.
  • I ate my standard lunch of a peanut butter sandwich and water.
  • We have a group of 25 coming in tomorrow, and I have to find projects around the guesthouse to keep them busy.  Wish me luck!
  • I went with Patrick to buy Aquatabs.  Pretty boring.  Not Patrick (or his wife and son), but the process.
  • Printed 100 photos for a guest who was here last week.  She puts together beautiful photo albums of the kids.
  • 100 photos cost $40 American.  That works out to about $.40/each.
  • Entered my name in a drawing to win a motorcycle!  I want a red one.  I just want to win it right away in March or April so that I can enjoy it before I have to leave in June.
  • Patrick offered to let me drive the truck on main Delmas going down the mountain while he bought a lock on the street.  I declined the offer.  Now I wish I'd said yes.  I may never get another chance while I'm here!
  • Supper was a macaroni type casserole cheesey thingy that had some ham in it.  It's the only meal I've ever had at Gertrude's that I haven't liked.  I don't like mac and cheese. I don't like casseroles.  And I don't like ham.  Oh well.  Can't win 'em all!
  • Made an appointment to take one of the girls in to see a specialist that deals with club feet.  I take her to General Hospital next Wednesday.
That's about it for the day!  Time to clean up and settle in for the night.

  1. I liked this blog entry! I am pulling for you winning the motorcycle, but I'm hoping that Gertrude serves the mac and cheese while I'm there. I love it! Ha ha! I'm taking Nelle to see Boo on Monday, by the way. It should be a great doggie reunion!

    Take care,
    Susan
